CURIOSITY AND DRIVE
In my years of undergrad, I have collaborated with actors, directors, and playwrights to debut new works. I consistently participated in events with Marymount’s Intercultural Center, where BIPOC, first-generation students, and performers of color fostered gatherings like Melanin Fest to celebrate our artistry and identities. While working at coffee shops through high school and college, I flourished in Midtown’s expectations of customer service, commuting 1-2 hour bus rides from New Jersey to Manhattan, while making sure I remain curious towards the sacred processes of being an artist of several mediums. My biggest challenges these past few years have only strengthened my passion for engaging with theater inclusively, and efficiently.
Hi! My name is Allyson Cabreza (she/her), and I am a first generation Filipina-American theatre maker, singer and songwriter, model, dancer, and devisor, born and raised in New Jersey and New York City. In May 2025, I completed my BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Theatre Arts with a Minor/Concentration in Musical Theatre at Marymount Manhattan College where I found my purpose in fostering thought-provoking artistic experiences for other BIPOC artists—especially AAPI individuals like myself! Whether my drive derives from my conservatory training in Musical Theatre, writing original music, or participating in MMC’s Social Justice Academy, I have found beauty in understanding my identity whilst being able to express myself in ways that challenge traditional storytelling!
